In the UK, we already have the most comprehensive labelling regulation in the world. Retailers and manufacturers in Britain agreed to a voluntary labelling scheme for GM products several years ago.

Tomato puree made from GM tomatoes was clearly labelled and sold very well. Since then, new EU regulations have come into force so all that food containing GM ingredients (over a 0.9% threshold) has to be labelled.
