In the middle of May (http://www.cropgen.org/article_181.html) we reported how the Independent on Sunday had misinterpreted the work of an American scientist. The newspaper claimed to have “exposed the myth” that the use of GM crops increases yields, quoting the work of Professor Barney Gordon at the University of Kansas in support.

But Professor Gordon was much aggrieved at the way his work had been misquoted and misused. He said he had written a rebuttal to the Independent on Sunday drawing their attention to their errors.

We awaited the newspaper’s response with interest. We needn’t have bothered: they didn’t.
